4. Further information on the cookies and tools we use
reCAPTCHA: We obtain the reCAPTCHA cookie from Google Inc., or for the European region, from Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). This cookie helps us protect our website from spam software and misuse by non-human visitors. We specifically use this cookie to secure our contact form.
reCAPTCHA applies advanced risk analysis techniques to distinguish humans from bots by embedding a JavaScript element in the source code. The tool then runs in the background, analyzing your user behavior. Based on these user actions, the software calculates a so-called captcha score, which indicates the likelihood that you are human.
During this process, personal data is collected (e.g., IP address, referral URL, information about your operating system, cookies, mouse and keyboard behavior, date and language settings, all JavaScript objects, screen resolution, and potentially other data). This data is usually truncated before being transmitted to a server in the EU or the USA. The IP address is not combined with other Google data unless you are logged into your Google account while using reCAPTCHA.
After the algorithm checks whether Google cookies from other Google services are already stored in your browser, reCAPTCHA places an additional cookie in your browser and captures a snapshot of your browser window. We use this cookie based on our legitimate interest in making our website more secure.
If you wish to have your data deleted, please contact Google Support at: https://support.google.com/?hl=en&tid=331696858034. Additionally, it may help to clear your browser history and cookies and log out of Google services.
